Bauchi state government has launched the Bauchi – Abuja air operation by Rano Air.
The ceremony, which was held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi, was attended by dignitaries from Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Rano Air, members of the state executive council and local government chairmen.
Governor Bala Muhammad who was represented by his deputy, Muhammad Auwal Jatau, described transportation as the best method of having a sustainable economy.
The governor said the initiative was a deliberate policy of his administration to ensure the seamless transportation system in the state.
He noted that with the commencement of oil drilling in Kolmani and the establishment of a cement company in Gwana, the partnership will be of immense benefit to the state.
On the Bauchi airport, the governor who expressed satisfaction with the service being rendered to air passengers from neighboring states, commended Rano Air for accepting to partner with the state.
In his remarks, the representative of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria Alhaji Lawan Abdu, congratulated Bauchi state government and Rano Air for the partnership.
Alhaji Lawan who described Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport as one of the best domestic airports in the country, observed that the airport is grossly under utilized in view of its international standard.
On his part, the Managing Director of Rano Air Alhaji Lawan Sabo Bakin Zuwo, pledged to contribute to the economic development of the state.
He said the airline covers 8 states in Nigeria including Bauchi.
Alhaji Bakin Zuwo assured that the partnership will boost the state economy and promote social cohesion.
